 With Attorney Leo Branton, Dorothy won a cash settlement obtained from Confidential Magazine, a publication famed for it's daring "exposes" of the private lives of celebrities. She received a $10,000 out of court settlement , which was later used as a basis for a Criminal Court action against the magazine and it's eventual demise as a power in the entertainment industry.  A story, somewhat similar in the content to a Negro publication, Hep, which Miss Dandridge and Branton immediately struck with a $2 million dollar lawsuit.  The magazine paid off $5,000.
